If you love living green, then Ella is a place to visit. Ella Rock is one of the places that proves it. Laid-back Ella draws travelers to Sri Lanka's highlands with its mountain forests, tea plantations, waterfalls, and relatively cool climate. The wildlife-rich region is also home to caves, cascades, and secluded temples—plus the Ella Gap, which offers lofty views between a cleft in two hills. 

Trekkers would love the place. It’s a bit tiring to hike, but it is worth it. Once you get to the summit, you will realize why we said so. The panoramic views it provides with mist and cloud covering the area, especially in the early mornings and late evenings, are something you should witness, and that would suffice enough to say that you visited Ella.

The total time for climbing up and down is 4 hours. Yes, sounds like a long journey. But the way up there is full of diversity. If you are starting from Ella train station, you will enjoy the rail walk, and as soon as you start climbing up, you will pass a waterfall, the rubber tree forest, and tea plantations.

On a rainy day, it can be slippery, so better be cautious with what you wear for the journey. Wear something suitable for hiking and towards the end of the hike, the route will get a bit harder with the steep, but still manageable.

The Ravana cave is located 2 km away from Ella town on the foundation of a cliff and is said to be about 4000 years old. One can take a car up on the hill till one reaches the Ravana Ella temple (which is 2500 years old), and from there, it is a trek of 800 steps to the Ravana caves. It is believed that King Ravana built an underground palace, and the path to that palace started from these caves.

Guests can also visit the top of the Kithalla Waterfall, making it a perfect destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers. The upper area of Kithalella Waterfall is located next to this bridge. 

Rawana Ella Waterfall is a stunning natural attraction located 2 km away from Ella Town in Sri Lanka. This picturesque waterfall cascades down from a height of approximately 25 meters, creating a mesmerizing sight as the water flows over the rocks. The surrounding lush greenery and serene environment make it a perfect spot for nature lovers and photographers. Visitors can also explore the nearby Ravana Cave, which is believed to be about 4000 years old and is associated with the legend of King Ravana. The Nine Arches Bridge, also known as the Bridge in the Sky, is a stunning architectural marvel located in Ella, Sri Lanka.
